DTLA Shenanigans
hello hello!!!! This year is going by way too fast wow. My sister came to LA towards the end of my spring break and we went on quite a few food adventures. Our favorite place to go is probably Sushistop because their sushi is so cheap and delicious. It's $3 a roll (YES, ONLY THREE DOLLARS). You don't even want to know how many plates we ordered.. :| It was so nice having my sister bring a little piece of home to LA.
We took a couple pictures in downtown after Hillsong LA. I think I grew in faith the most this past year, especially taking the time to go alone every week and reflect. I've been having this recurring thought lately- I find that Christians often display their faith by announcing to people that they do good things. But humility is what helps you grow in wisdom and grace. Rather than prove to everyone else that you're a good Christian, focus on having your own relationship with God. If you want to, go to Hillsong LA! It's a great place full of great people.

Hi friends! :) I wanted to share a few new things I've grown to love with you.
1. Macaron Rose perfume: Urban Outfitters. I've been using a Victoria's Secret mist for a while now, which hasn't been lasting all day, but this one does the job! It smells amazing, the scent is strong (I only spray once), and it's long lasting. Plus I'm in love with its pastel pink color to match my room haha.

2. Gabrielle Watch: Urban Outfitters. I recently lost Nixon watch and broke my Marc Jacobs watch.. so I thought to myself that maybe expensive things aren't for me. They're way too much responsibility and I can't seem to take care of them :-( Then I happened to come across this beauty! It's the perfect size and I'm absolutely in love with it. Definitely one thing I can't leave the house without.

3. Mary Lou Highlighter: The Balm. My first highlighter ever and I love the shade. I never really understood the point of using highlighter, but after trying this it definitely made a difference with glow for the nose&cheeks. I have yet to try other brands but I'll stick to this one for now!

4. Telescopic Mascara: L'Oreal. ****AHH I've been so excited to share about this mascara!!! I use this every morning and I think to myself "I have to post about this soon." Yes, I'm in love with it. I've been using the Maybelline Volum' Express: Mega Plush mascara for 2 years (too close-minded and afraid to try anything else), so this is saying a lot haha! It doesn't clump, it separates my lashes, and it lengthens them (2 coats). You can probably get it at any drugstore so it doesn't hurt to try :) Hopefully you'll like it as much as I do!

5. Acai Hydrating Body Lotion: Victoria's Secret. I got this as a Christmas gift and I've been using a little bit of it everyday before leaving the house. I use the Acai Body Scrub as well and I cannot even begin to explain how refreshing the smell is. Sometimes, I'll use this lotion just to smell the acai even if I don't need any more on my skin haha. I've only been using Olay and Aveeno lotions since middle school because of my sensitive skin (most of the other VS lotions make my skin red), but after trying this I'll probably buy it again after I run out.

Holiday Season
Happy December and happy holidays!!! :) It's been weeks since I've posted because of midterms and finals, but here is finally a winter outfit! My housemates and I also decorated our living room space with a tree, stockings, and lights, which is why our house has been so cozy and cute this past month (also why I've been hibernating).
I'm writing this as I head to the airport back home to the Bay!!! I can't wait to sleep in and eat homecooked meals everyday of winter break. Christmas season means cozy sweaters and gift shopping and hot chocolate and baking cookies and I don't know where to begin with how excited I am.
Anyway, for this simple look I wore an oversized cozy sweater, loose shorts, and over the knee socks. And look out for a series of winter outfits/layers in the next couple weeks! Details below:
Oversized sweater: Brandy Melville, shorts with lace detail: Forever 21, gold necklace: Forever 21, brown booties: Amazon
Happy holidays again :)))))
And thank you to my housemate Amanda for shooting these!!
Art District
Happy Sunday :))) Yesterday, my friends and I went to the Artists and Fleas Market in the Art District. There were cute candles, artwork, jewelry, boutiques, and decorations. The sellers were friendly and the styles were so up my alley. I was in love with everything!!!! I've never said "this is soooo cute" so many times in one day. I bought a thick olive flannel, gold geometric room decoration, and 3 candles! (if you haven't figured yet, I'm obsessed with candles haha). Afterwards, we ate at Urth Cafe nearby. If you haven't tried earl grey tea, please do bc you won't regret it!
Anyway, I wore light layers for a cozy look and decided to go for dark lips, which I think goes with my skin tone. If you don't have one already, grab a loose-fitting denim jacket because it goes really well with layering for this season! Details below:
Clothing: Lace up tshirt dress and denim jacket (Forever 21), heeled booties (Amazon), knitted socks (Target), jeweled bracelet (Nectar clothing)

Gloomy
Hi friends :) Hope yall are having a good weekend!
On Saturday, I woke up when the day was half over and the sky was overcast. I don't know if it was the weather or if we were just tired, but my sister and I impulsively decided to sell our Flog Gnaw tickets. So we went to Third Street Promenade, where we ate, shopped, and spent the day together (I don't even want to think about the damage done). I can't believe I had boba for four days in a row............ Anyway, for my outfit I put on an oversized flannel, lightwashed jeans, and dark&tighter top!
Most of the time, I don't know how to describe why I wear what I do but I'll try to explain as best as I can. The main thing is always having a balance of color, contrast, patterns, and looseness to outfits. When picking what to wear, I like to think that darker tops go well with lighter bottoms & lighter bottoms go well with darker shoes. I also like to have one pattern at a time because I simply cannot rock two at once (aka stripes and plaid together would not work for me). Wearing oversized pants also means that I have to cuff them and give myself height with boots (so that I don't look stubby!).
Details below:
Plaid flannel (thrifted), high waisted jeans (thrifted), cropped velvet bralette (Kendall&Kylie Pacsun collection), ankle booties (Amazon), vintage bag (thrifted), gold necklace (Forever 21)
Feel free to ask if you have any questions & have a good week :)))
Lazy Autumn
Happy Fall :) To be honest, I put this together in 2 minutes after I woke up from sleeping for 12 hours. Hibernation is starting early haha. My apartment-mate, Amanda, and I went up to our roof during sunset for this shoot. I'm so so grateful to have such an amazing view where I live.
Anyway, here's a lazy, yet cozy fall outfit for you all. Perfect for any casual outing! I decided to wear neutral colors and a knitted sweater&socks, which I usually think of when it comes to autumn. Since the look is very simple, I threw on a layered necklace to balance everything out. I will also be doing a series of fall and winter outfits throughout this season :)
Details below:
Clothing: Cream sweater (Shadys Closet), leggings (Lululemon), grey halter bralette (Demasque), brown heeled booties (Amazon)
Accessories: Layered necklace (Forever 21), knitted socks (Target), vintage bag (thrifted)
And wear a smile!
Workspace Vibes
Hi again!!!! :) I want to share my workspace and bedroom design with y'all. The main thing I thought about while decorating was to have a very relaxing/ laid back ambiance. I love fairy lights, candles, and pictures so I had to put those up no matter what. Okay here's the exciting part: I did not spend more than $35 on all of my room decorations either!! I shall give you tips for room decor:
1) Grab goodies from the dollar section at Target. I got my pencil holder, notebook/book holder, and a pack of clothespins for a dollar each! You'll be surprised by what you find there to save you some $$$.
2) This is really unexpected, but I got my sunflower design, candles, jewelry hanger, and succulents from Daiso for a dollar each as well. Honestly, I used to think that most things at Daiso don't fit my style.. but after this, I'm so in love with that store.
3) Shop on Amazon for copper fairy lights and a cute tapestry! It definitely beats shopping on another pricey website for those.
4) Have a theme for your room. (ex. white theme, floral/beachy theme, etc) Try not to have anything stick out too much with color or size either!
As for everything else: The lamp was already furnished with the university apartment, shells were from beaches in San Francisco and Haiti, mason jar was a gift (I wrapped old denim jeans around it as a holder, I have no idea why), Polaroid picture holder with my name on it was a gift (from an art store like Beverley's/Michael's).
Thanks for reading and feel free to ask me if you have questions about anything else laying around :)))
